Quality Pizza and Flavor Harmony in Rovaniemi

Massimo is a restaurant located in Rinteenkulma Shopping Center in Rovaniemi, whose menu has drawn inspiration from the mother of all pizzas – the Neapolitan pizza.”

The Neapolitan pizza is known for its fluffy crust and deliciously fresh ingredients. Restaurant Massimo offers quality pizzas inspired by Italian cuisine, flavor harmony, and a cozy atmosphere in Rinteenkulma Shopping Center in Rovaniemi. This delicacy is now also available in the northern Finland.

According to the Neapolitans, the world’s best ice cream can be found in their city. When restaurateur Jouko Rajanen, known for his gelatos, heard this, he had to investigate further. As he strolled along the cobblestone street, skillfully crafted by ancient Roman hands, a delightful aroma wafted towards him: tomato sauce, mozzarella, fresh basil… With water pooling in his mouth, Jouko couldn’t resist the temptation. He stepped into a charming little restaurant and tasted authentic Neapolitan pizza for the first time.

On the flight back to Finland, Jouko’s mind buzzed with ideas. The desire to bring the taste experience of Naples to delight the residents of his hometown had consumed his thoughts. After thoroughly familiarizing himself with the distinctive features of Neapolitan pizza, from fresh ingredients to the significance of cold-proofed dough, Jouko was ready to establish Massimo. Thus, a pizzeria was born, serving Neapolitan-style pizzas for all lovers of taste and quality.

I have been in the restaurant industry for a couple of decades. My passion has always been flavor that surpasses ordinary expectations. In Neapolitan-style pizzas, I am particularly drawn to their simplicity, where the importance of fresh and tasty ingredients shines through. This is exactly what is an absolute strength for us here in Lapland.”
