According to the Neapolitans, the world’s best ice cream can be found in their city. When restaurateur Jouko Rajanen, known for his gelatos, heard this, he had to investigate further. As he strolled along the cobblestone street, skillfully crafted by ancient Roman hands, a delightful aroma wafted towards him: tomato sauce, mozzarella, fresh basil… With water pooling in his mouth, Jouko couldn’t resist the temptation. He stepped into a charming little restaurant and tasted authentic Neapolitan pizza for the first time.
On the flight back to Finland, Jouko’s mind buzzed with ideas. The desire to bring the taste experience of Naples to delight the residents of his hometown had consumed his thoughts. After thoroughly familiarizing himself with the distinctive features of Neapolitan pizza, from fresh ingredients to the significance of cold-proofed dough, Jouko was ready to establish Massimo. Thus, a pizzeria was born, serving Neapolitan-style pizzas for all lovers of taste and quality.
